Niles Canyon Travel Log

by Steve Hughes

Between March 31st & April 4th, I visited my son Chris and his family down in San Jose, CA. On Sunday, April 3rd, Chris & I visited the Niles Canyon Ry., a tourist line that runs between Fremont and Sunol, CA, that is run by the Pacific Locomotive Association. They are celebrating their 50th Anniversary. Attached are a couple of pics of the restored 2-6-2T saddle tanker, which orignally ran the Dollar Lumber Co. up in Glendale, Oregon during the 1940's & 50's. This pulled the train on which we rode.
